Shonishin is now offered at Acupuncture & Herbal Therapies!
Join us for a FREE lecture on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 6-7pm – Introducing Shonishin Pediatrics.
Once a month on Saturdays, Sara Smiley, AP, DOM will be offering a Shonishin Pediatric Clinic. Shonishin was developed over 250 years ago in Japan as a needleless technique used to treat children. This technique uses a series of special tools to stimulate acupuncture points and meridians by gently stroking, rubbing and tapping your child’s skin.
In general, Shonishin helps to maintain bodily balance and boost your child’s immune system. More specifically, Shonishin can help to treat:
Allergies and asthma
Coughs and colds
Eczema and other skin conditions
Ear infections- chronic and acute
Night terrors and bedwetting
Attention Deficit Disorder
Indigestion, constipation and diarrhea
Getting sick frequently
Failure to thrive
Colic and crying at night
And more!
The frequency, dose and strength of each treatment will depend on the age and general health of your child. The treatment itself is typically brief, lasting from approximately three to twenty minutes. Generally speaking, however, the older the child, the longer the treatment will take.
Shonishin is a safe and effective technique to restore balance and keep your child feeling healthy and happy! Children from infancy to age 10 are the best candidates for treatment.
The clinic will be offered Saturday’s from 10 am to 4 pm on the following dates:
–December 22, 2012
–January 19, 2013
–February 23, 2013
Treatments on Shonishin Clinic Day cost $40 for a 25 minute treatment. Call 727-551-0857 to make your appointment today! Walk-in patients are also welcome.
