Jennifer Poll: Massage Therapist

Jennifer Poll began her pursuit of natural health and living while attending college at the University of South Florida. While experiencing poor digestion and overall well-being, a friend opened Jennifer's eyes to the concept of balanced nutrition. Jennifer began to learn all she could about nutrition and natural living, and through the consumption of whole, organic foods and the practice of yoga was able to improve her health naturally. Jennifer continued with her studies in Mass Communications, but upon graduation the pull to learn more about the human body and health grew too strong to dismiss. Two months after she received her BA, Jennifer enrolled in the massage therapy program at Bhakti-Academy in Safety Harbor, Florida.
A complete change from Western university teaching, Bhakti was an open and consciousness focused learning environment based on Eastern philosophies of the mind body connection. Despite over 18 years of formal schooling, never before had Jennifer been educated on the necessity of the development of her soul and consciousness so that she could help others. After graduating with honors and passing the national boards of massage therapy with high scores, Jennifer began her journey of gaining experience as only real life situations can provide - through practice. Her experience has trained her in deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, neuromuscular therapy, cranial sacral therapy, prenatal massage and Mayan Abdominal Massage.
Jennifer chose to specialize in Mayan Abdominal Massage because it addresses digestive complaints, which she had personal experience with, and also because it is extremely beneficial for the reproductive organs of women and men. Raised by a single mother, Jennifer learned from a young age the innate strength and wisdom each woman possesses, or has the ability to develop, within her body. So often, a woman's body is "regulated" with drugs and surgery, when this should be the last resort. Mayan Abdominal Massage addresses complaints and challenges of fertility, PMS, pre/post natal, digestion and prostate through non-invasive techniques which focus on the placement of digestive and reproductive organs within the abdomen. Jennifer is one of the few professionally trained Mayan Abdominal Massage practitioners in the state of Florida. Jennifer also utilizes traditional Chinese medicine techniques of cupping, auricular therapy and moxibustion, and she is currently enrolled in the professional herbalist training program at Acupuncture and Herbal Therapies.
