![]() Hillary Talbott: Doctor of Oriental Medicine
Hillary is our newest physician. She joins Acupuncture & Herbal therapies after our exhaustive year-long national search. Hillary's interest in Chinese Medicine started many years ago from her own personal successes with the medicine. Hillary's training started with a BS in Exercise Sport Science and Health Education with a full academic scholarship to the University of Florida in Gainesville. After working for a few years she returned to Gainesville and began pursuing her passion in the rigorous master's program at Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine. This program trains graduates in advanced pulse diagnostic skills as well as Traditional Chinese Medicine. As a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Hillary's successes in treating many issues include menopausal symptoms, infertility, pregnancy related side effects, anxiety, depression, trauma, insomnia, weight loss, sports medicine and performance enhancement as well as chronic and acute pain. In Gainesville she taught beginner and prenatal yoga and continues with a personal practice. She often prescribes particular poses and or breathing exercises to her acupuncture patients to assist in their healing. Hillary ran her first marathon in 2006 with the Leukemia and Lymphoma's Team in Training. She has since completed 6 endurance races and is currently training for a half marathon this October. Her experience on the road gives her valuable insight into treating many of the injuries runners often face. Being an alumni she is a huge Gator fan and since moving to the St. Pete area she has begun following the Rays. Hillary, like everyone at the clinic, has a deep love for learning and especially herbalism. She is a wonderful addition to the academic staff of the Professional Herbalist Training Program. She supervises the herbal interns in the evening intern clinic as well as teaching a number of beginning and advanced level classes. Her firm grasp of both Western and Chinese medical principles paired with her detailed conversational teaching style makes her a perfect fit in the classroom.
