Val started his medical career by studying Western medicine. He earned his Medical Doctor degree in Europe in 1981. While practicing family and environmental medicine for 13 years, Val recognized the limitations of Western medicine in treating chronic conditions, as well as the adverse effects of many medications. While practicing in Romania, he started studying alternative therapies and specialized in acupuncture, homeopathy and herbal medicine to best serve his patients.
After moving to the United States, he chose to focus his education on Traditional Chinese Medicine, including:

He earned his Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from The American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Houston, Texas in 2000.
Val worked mostly in integrative clinics that provided alternative therapies in addition to regular allopathic treatments. Because of his unique clinical experience in western medicine, Val is able to effectively interact and communicate with patients’ MDs when needed. With over 25 years of medical practice experience, Val has effectively treated a wide variety of issues to include all types of pain, as well as issues related to respiratory, digestive, urinary, neurological, dermatological, autoimmune and gynecological.Val is dedicated to many types of advanced and specialized training that very few acupuncturists have invested the time into learning. He is one of the few specially certified in acupuncture injection therapy.This specialized treatment allows for the injection of vitamins, herbs and homeopathic solutions into key areas of the body, as well researched acupuncture points.
His continued research and training in injection therapy led to his special focus in Facial Rejuvenation and Body Contouring. Treatments consist of a series of focused appointments using acupuncture, homeopathic microinjections with vital nutrients and cytokines, herbs, diet and lifestyle modifications to bring about both an inner and outer beauty in each patient.
One of the unique qualities of having such an experienced practitioner is the depth and variety of his tools that he can use to approach each patient. Val is one of the few local practitioners certified in NAET (Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Techniques), a non-invasive method of elimination of allergies and sensitivities based on applied kinesiology and acupressure.
Besides his lifelong passion for learning, Valentin is an enthusiast of the outdoors. He enjoys swimming on a daily basis, and teaches, as well as, practices Tai chi and Qi Gong. Val is currently accepting new patients and sees patients Monday through Saturday.

For the last six months, I had been experiencing pain from my shoulders, down my arms, with tingling/numbness into my fingers. I had been unable to grip or utilize individual fingers. In addition, both my legs and my hands were extremely swollen and painful to the point where walking was difficult and daily activities were nearly impossible. Pain in my knees restricted walking. Due to the intense pain in my limbs, I was unable to lay down in bed to sleep. Instead I slept in a chair for five months. My blood pressure was dangerously high, and went undetected during all of my doctor visits.
After visiting a primary care doctor and an orthopedic specialist, the suggested treatment plan was to have several cervical epidural steroid injections. Even though this is a common procedure, I was not comfortable with the invasive nature of this option.
As an alternative, a friend suggested I see Dr. Val Mirea. After a few weeks of treatments there was improvement in all areas which gradually became significant. After a few months of acupuncture treatments, herbs and massage, the pain in my shoulders and arms is gone and I am regaining strength and function of my hands and fingers. The swelling in my extremities has also been significantly reduced and almost completely eliminated. In addition, my leg pain has been reduced to the point where I can walk quickly and with a normal gait. So far my blood pressure is down by more than 40 points. I am also able to comfortably sleep in bed. I have also experienced a 30 lb. weight loss so far.

I am writing today with much gratitude to a physician that gave me hope at a time when I was feeling absolutely hopeless. I have suffered with Fibromyalgia pain and the symptoms of Lupus for several years. The pain at times was so bad that I found it difficult to get out of bed let alone enjoy much of living at all. MIGRAINES, ARTHRITIS PAIN, CHRONIC FATIGUE, LUPUS, RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME, CONSTIPATIONI was suffering for over a decade with the above ailments, I was consuming multiple prescription medications daily. For the migraines I was receiving regular spinal injections. The swelling and pain pain in my fingers and wrists had gotten to the point that I was planning on having both my wrists fused as well as fusion surgery for the herniated discs in my neck. I would like to express my gratitude to the Doctor who keeps my migraines under control. I have been having bad migraines for the most part of my life, since I was a teenager, and now I am in my fifties. I first saw Dr. Val Mirea about a year ago. I started acupuncture sessions and immediately felt relief. I have been coming back every couple weeks and those acupuncture sessions are helping me tremendously.
