Vitamin C
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant and is used for the
production of collagen and other connective tissue. Dr.
Linus Pauling was an advocate of taking high dosages of
C for maintaining health. It is commonly used at the
onset of a cold, taking dosages of up to 3000mg every
four hours. Dosage is regulated to bowel tolerance
(take increasing dosage until you get loose stools then
back off by 500mg). If used at high dosages for colds be
sure to reduce dosage slowly over 2-3 days. Patients
with kidney problems should not take high dosages of C.
