Liu Wei Di Huang Wan - Six Flavors Tea Pills
This classical formula has a multitude of uses. From a
Chinese medicine view, it is the primary formula for Yin
defiency. Symptoms of Yin defiency include; hot flashes,
night sweats, fatigue, constipation, flushed cheeks
(malar flush) heat in the hands, feet and center of the
chest (5 center heat). This formula is often prescribed
to people who have diabetes, hyperthyroid, hepatitis,
excess cortisol, dry skin, vaginal dryness, anxiety,
insomnia and many other problems. Do not use if
experiencing loose stools. Reduce dosage if bloating or
loose stools develop. Take with food.
There are a number of variations of this formula that
address Yin defiency with a particular symptom. For eye
problems consider Ming Mu Di Huang Wan, for tinitis
consider Er Long Zuo Ci Wan, for severe hot flashes/night
sweats consider Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan, for severe dryness
consider Zuo Gui Wan or Da Bu Yin Wan. Some Onocologists
have issue with the herb Shan Zhu Yu in this formula
during chemotherapy, consider substituting Da Bu Yin Wan
in its place.
Ingredients:
Rehmannia glutinosa root-prep, Dioscorea opposita rhizome,
Cornus officinalis fruit, Paeonia suffruticosa root-bark,
Poria cocos fungus, Alisma plantago aquatica rhizome.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant and is used for the
production of collagen and other connective tissue. Dr.
Linus Pauling was an advocate of taking high dosages of
C for maintaining health. It is commonly used at the
onset of a cold, taking dosages of up to 3000mg every
four hours. Dosage is regulated to bowel tolerance
(take increasing dosage until you get loose stools then
back off by 500mg). If used at high dosages for colds be
sure to reduce dosage slowly over 2-3 days. Patients
with kidney problems should not take high dosages of C.

He Shou Wu - Fo Ti
He Shou Wu translates as "Mr. He’s Black Hair" and has an
interesting folklore behind it. Mr. He is said to have
lived to be over 200 years old and still had nice black
hair - all due to this herb.
He Shou Wu is a great blood tonic, it helps with
constipation and does help with premature graying of
dark hair. In China it is used for dry skin
and hair, alopecia, cracked nails. It is also often times
used following radiation therapy. Although it is not the
first choice, it is often used for cholesterol and
malaria.
