Gan Mao Ling Wan This formula is very effective for colds and flu and contains two strong anti-viral herbs: Gang Mei Gen and San Cha Ku. This forumula is best if fever, sore throat, stiffness or swollen glands are present. It can be used for ear or sinus infections as well. This formula can be used if Yin Chiao Jie Du Pian is not strong enough. Dosage can be increased up to six tablets every four hours for up to three days. Bi Yan Pian This tablet is excellent for clearing any type of nasal congestion. It can be combined with Gan Mao Ling Wan for nasal congestion associated with colds or flu. It can used alone for seasonal allergies, or can be combined with Chuan Xin Lian for sinus infection. If nasal congestion is severe, use with Huang Lian Jie Du Pian. Combine Bi Yan Pian with Yu Ping Feng San to help combat a low immune system. This formula addresses congestion, runny nose, red itchy eyes and is safe for children at a reduced dosage (or consider Pe Min Can Wan - the smaller pill size it is easier to adjust for children.) Dosage can be increased to five tablets every four hours if needed for up to five days. This formula will cause sweating at higher dosages which is considered a normal and beneficial funciton of the herbs.
